#lwchallenge// March 2019 “text”

Welcome to the Little Writing Challenge of March 2019! Please make sure you’ve read my blog post called Little Writing Challenge before reading this one for all the rules and how to submit your story. Text This month’s challenge revolves around a text. Whether that text is a happy one, a last text, or an automated text, is up to you. You don’t even have to reveal what the text says. But the main character has to be affected by the text and act upon it. It can be written in any genre you like. I can’t wait to see what you all come up with! Good luck and happy writing!

2019// Bye February, Hello March

February has come to an end already, so it’s time for my monthly wrap up! February was an interesting month for different reasons. First the thing that happened at the beginning of the month, which went on for days. Despite that, I was able to keep blogging, though differently than I had planned. I also changed my blog header (twice) because I needed a fresh look. I like how it looks now. In February I also got in a nice reading flow, which I am very grateful for. I read Starry Eyes, Emergency Contact, and Love & Luck for free on Riveted on my phone. They were only available for 24 hours, and that was a great motivator to keep reading. I also requested a book on Netgalley for the first time ever, and got a rejection email almost immediately. Lol. In my wrap up from last month I wrote that I would go to South Korea, but it took…

Mini review// Almost Midnight by Rainbow Rowell

Midnights is the story of Noel and Mags, who meet at the same New Year’s Eve party every year and fall a little more in love each time . . . Kindred Spirits is about Elena, who decides to queue to see the new Star Wars movie and meets Gabe, a fellow fan. Midnights was previously published as part of the My True Love Gave to Me anthology, edited by Stephanie Perkins and Kindred Spirits was previously published as a World Book Day title. This review contains no spoilers. I got this book as a present Trigger warnings// N/A. Please inform me if I have missed something and I will update this section. Jules must delve into the stories that she now recognizes are accounts of her own past. For it is only by piecing together the mysteries of her lives that Jules will be able to save the person who has captured her own heart in this one. I let my Instagram followers decide how my weekly spread should look

Yesterday I thought it would be fun to let my Instagram followers decide how my weekly spread in my bullet journal should look. This is something I have seen countless times on YouTube, with bullet journals, but also make-up, food, etc. And I thought it was a fun way to get out of my comfort zone. I headed over to my Instagram story and announced that I was planning to make a weekly spread with their help and made a few polls. I waited an hour before I ended the polls and 15 minutes for the smaller decisions. Next time I’ll definitely plan this a bit more ahead. Stationery I have used: Leuchtturm1917 A5 dotted journal, Stabilo fineliner black, Tombow Fudenosuke hard tip, Ecoline brush pens 201 and 227, pencil, eraser, protractor, Twin markers, Crayola Supertips, washi tape. Yellow or grey + pink? First I asked which colours and style I should go for. I had two ideas in mind:…

I thought I had turned into a slow reader

The last few years I’ve been calling myself a slow reader. Not just that, I’ve been embarrassed. Many times I have felt like a bad bookworm. I wasn’t able to keep up with all the new releases, and I haven’t read a lot of books overall, resulting in not really being able to make lists or do lots of tags. When I was younger and I had a library subscription, I read many many books. I believe I was at the library every few days to get new books, and I would often finish a book (or two) before dinner the same day I got it. I devoured books. If I remember correctly, I once read twelve books during a one week holiday. Then I got older and I somewhat fell out of touch with reading. Looking back at it, I just didn’t have the headspace for it, so it makes sense. The library moved buildings and got a modern…

Review// Starry Eyes by Jenn Bennett

Ever since last year’s homecoming dance, best friends-turned-best enemies Zorie and Lennon have made an art of avoiding each other. It doesn’t hurt that their families are the modern-day Californian version of the Montagues and Capulets. But when a group camping trip goes south, Zorie and Lennon find themselves stranded in the wilderness. Alone. Together. What could go wrong? With no one but each other for company, Zorie and Lennon have no choice but to hash out their issues via witty jabs and insults as they try to make their way to safety. But fighting each other while also fighting off the forces of nature makes getting out of the woods in one piece less and less likely. And as the two travel deeper into Northern California’s rugged backcountry, secrets and hidden feelings surface. But can Zorie and Lennon’s rekindled connection survive out in the real world? Or was it just a result of the fresh forest air and the…

Thank you for your support

I want to start this blog post by saying that I am not interested in sharing details about what happened publicly and if you’re here for drama you can leave now. On Wednesday (yes it has been this many days) something happened. Read THIS blog post if you have no idea what I’m talking about. After what happened, many people have messaged me to ask if I am okay and I got many compliments as well. And I wanted to thank you all for that. It means a lot to me that strangers were reaching out to me and making sure I didn’t feel discouraged. I will remember this. I took a little break from blogging and reading other blogs, and posting and liking on Instagram as well. I am okay, but it was a very bizarre situation to be in and something I hope to not experience again. It is good to know that if something like that ever…
