Yesterday I thought it would be fun to let my Instagram followers decide how my weekly spread in my bullet journal should look. This is something I have seen countless times on YouTube, with bullet journals, but also make-up, food, etc. And I thought it was a fun way to get out of my comfort zone. I headed over to my Instagram story and announced that I was planning to make a weekly spread with their help and made a few polls.
I waited an hour before I ended the polls and 15 minutes for the smaller decisions. Next time I’ll definitely plan this a bit more ahead.
Stationery I have used: Leuchtturm1917 A5 dotted journal, Stabilo fineliner black, Tombow Fudenosuke hard tip, Ecoline brush pens 201 and 227, pencil, eraser, protractor, Twin markers, Crayola Supertips, washi tape.
Yellow or grey + pink?
First I asked which colours and style I should go for. I had two ideas in mind: comic book style in yellow or minimalistic in grey with hints of pink. It ended up being 52%-48%. It was a very close call, and for a long time I thought minimalistic would win. But I was most excited for the yellow theme, so I was happy that one won.
Bold or elegant?
Next up I asked whether I should use bold lettering or elegant lettering. Bold won by far with 62%-38%. I think that worked best with this spread as well.
Add washi tape?
I simple yes or no question. 82% said yes, so I went crazy with the washi tape, haha. I also decided to draw a few grid tapes, since I don’t own those, but really like the look of them.
How to fill the gap?
Because February 18 is J-hope’s, one of my favourite artists, birthday, I made an attempt of drawing him (it doesn’t look like him, but I like the drawing nonetheless). I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do with the gap on the bottom of the left page. I asked my followers if I should add a quote or draw sunflowers. The result was 29%-71%. So I started sketching a sunflower and when I was done I realised I really liked the sketch look to it, so I went with it.
I needed a quote for the left page and posted a question sticker to my story. Not many people sent in a quote, so there was not much to choose from, but I chose ‘be happy’. And because it was a short quote, I decided to fill up the page with another sunflower.
It’s been a while since I’ve made a weekly spread like this and I had lots of fun working on it. I really like how colourful it is. I definitely want to let you all decide how my weekly spread should look again another time. What do you think of this spread?
